On 8 September 2026 the BOE published a revised map: the reserve is now 49 948.84 hectares, 1 221.23 more than before. Nothing was added on the ground — the outer boundary is untouched and the difference is better cartography after a decade-long review. Any page still quoting 48 727 is quoting the 2015 measurement.
