Tenerife helicopter tour

There is exactly one helicopter product in the catalogue: €110, ★4.8 from 341 reviews, flying out of Adeje with a maximum of four seats. It sells five routes, and the only thing that separates them is how many minutes you are in the air.

THE SHORT ANSWER

You are buying minutes, and the first ones are the dearest

€110 is the entry price and it buys the seven-minute run along the south coast — the resorts, the cliffs behind them, and back. Every longer route is the same helicopter flying further: ten minutes for the beaches and ravines, eighteen for Los Gigantes, twenty-five for Isla Baja, forty for the Teide National Park. Work out the price per minute before you choose, because it falls steeply as the routes get longer.

THE ONE THING TO READ TWICE

This activity is non-refundable. Every other product we list gives you free cancellation up to 24 hours before; this one does not. If the weather is unflyable the operator reroutes rather than refunds, keeping the minutes and kilometres you paid for. Book it on a day you are certain about.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT THE FLIGHT

Before you book a seat

01
It is non-refundable, and nothing else here is
FIXEvery other product on this site carries free cancellation up to 24 hours before. This one states plainly that it does not. That is the single biggest difference between booking the helicopter and booking anything else.
02
The seven-minute flight is a taster, not a tour
FIX€110 buys the shortest route along the south coast. It is a real flight and people rate it well, but if you came to see the island rather than the resort strip, the eighteen-minute route is where the landscape starts.
03
“Small group” means you may still share
FIXFour seats is the cabin, not your party. Unless you buy all four tickets you fly with strangers, which the listing says outright.
04
Ninety minutes of your day for seven minutes of flying
FIXThe operator puts the whole experience at up to an hour and a half once the briefing and boarding are counted. Plan the afternoon around that, not around the flight time.
05
Weather reroutes rather than refunds
FIXIf conditions do not allow the advertised route, the operator flies a different one for the same minutes and kilometres. You get a flight; you may not get the view you picked.
QUESTIONS

The helicopter, asked and answered

How much is a helicopter tour in Tenerife?

From €110 for the seven-minute south coast flight. The ten, eighteen, twenty-five and forty-minute routes each cost more, and are priced per option on the booking page — we do not quote figures we have not taken from our own price snapshot.

Is the Tenerife helicopter tour worth it?

It carries ★4.8 from 341 reviews, which is the highest rating of anything we list at this price. Whether it is worth it depends on the route: seven minutes is a taster, forty minutes over Teide is a different proposition.

Can you fly over Mount Teide by helicopter?

Yes — the forty-minute Gran Teide route is the longest option sold. It is the only way on this site to see the caldera from above without climbing it; the cable car takes you to 3 555 m but keeps you on the mountain.

Where does the helicopter leave from?

Adeje, in the south-west. You make your own way there — no pickup is included — and you need a passport or ID card with you.

How many people fit in the helicopter?

Four. If you want the cabin to yourself, the operator says you have to buy all four tickets; otherwise you share with whoever else is booked on that slot.

Can I cancel a helicopter flight?

No. The listing states the activity is non-refundable, which makes it the exception on this site. Pick a date you are sure of, and be aware that poor weather changes the route rather than releasing your money.

Is there more than one helicopter operator in Tenerife?

Not in this catalogue. One product, one operator out of Adeje, which is why this page cannot offer you a cheaper alternative in the air — only on the ground.

What can you see from the air that you cannot from the road?

The shape of things: Los Gigantes as a wall rather than a cliff face, the ravines of the south running to the sea in parallel, and on the long route the caldera as the sixteen-kilometre bowl it actually is.
