The detail behind the verdict
It collects you in Puerto de la Cruz and climbs south through the Orotava valley, so you are on the caldera floor in the middle of the day rather than at the end of a two-hour transfer from the resorts. The guide works the volcanic story on the way — the landslide that shaped the valley, the lava from Teide and Pico Viejo, the 1706 flows that buried the harbour at Garachico, and Chinyero, which erupted for nine days in November 1909 and is still the last eruption this island has had. Then, instead of turning round, it drops west for Masca.

Is the Teide and Masca VIP Tour worth it?
At €86 with lunch, yes, if you want both places in one day and are staying in the north. It is the best-reviewed product that pairs them — ★4.7 from 752 — and the alternative is two separate half-days.
Is the cable car included?
Not on this tour. The €42 return ticket is bought from Volcano Teide, and exactly one product in our set bundles it — a different, seven-hour day from both coasts. The permit for the last 160 metres to the crater is separate again, and costs €15 for non-residents in the 09:00–17:00 window.
Where does it start?
At the Tamaran office on Calle Aceviño 12 in Puerto de la Cruz at 08:45, with hotel pickup available in the town. It does not collect from the southern resorts — those departures are different products.
What language is the guide?

Is lunch included?

Do you walk the Masca gorge?
No. The operator describes Masca as a village visit, with the surrounding corners seen from the vehicle. The descent through the gorge is a separate booking at €40.66, capped and bookable only Wednesday to Saturday.
How long is the day?
Eight hours door to door. Roughly two of those are driving — the climb from Puerto de la Cruz through La Orotava is the shorter of the two roads into the park.
Can I cancel?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time, per the listing checked on 14 September 2026. Weather on the mountain is the usual reason people move a date.
Is there a cheaper way to see the same places?
