THE VERDICT

★4.8 from 519 with the guides at 4.9 — the strongest buggy record on the island. The €200 is for a buggy carrying two, so about €100 each, and the one line to find before you book is the photoshoot, which costs €25 and is printed among the inclusions.

IN DEPTH

The detail behind the verdict

Start with the inclusions list, because one line in it is not included at all. Among the jackets, gloves, fuel, insurance and drink sits "Photoshoot (25€)" — a paid extra written where the eye is looking for free ones. GetYourGuide’s own summary of the reviews says travellers would like clearer information about the optional photo fee, so the confusion is real rather than something we invented. The photographs themselves are good and people say so; just know that they cost money and that you look at them back at the office afterwards.

Second: this buggy never leaves the tarmac, and the operator explains why better than we could. A French reviewer wrote that it was a great activity but only on the road, which is a shame in a buggy; the reply says the national park is protected by UNESCO and off-road driving there is not possible. That applies to every buggy and quad tour inside the park, not just this one, so stop looking for the one that goes off-road — it does not exist.

What you are buying is three hours of open-topped driving from the coast up through Vilaflor to 2 100 m, ten minutes in the village, twenty in the park and twenty at a viewpoint. €200 covers a buggy for two, so a couple pays around €100 each. Sunset departures move with the sunset and the pickup time is confirmed a few days ahead. Take the jacket they give you seriously — the recurring note from people who did the sunset run is that they wished they had worn more.

The driver must be twenty-one and must produce a physical licence; a photograph of it on your phone will not do. Children from four can come, but only in the four-seat buggy, and they sit in the back until fourteen.

Questions about this tour

Is the Teide buggy tour worth it?

★4.8 from 519 with the guides at 4.9 makes it the best-reviewed buggy on the island. €200 covers a buggy for two, so near €100 each — reasonable for three hours with transfers at both ends.

Is the photoshoot included?

No. The listing prints "Photoshoot (25€)" inside the inclusions block, which is where the confusion starts. GetYourGuide’s own review summary notes that travellers want clearer information about the fee.

Can you go off-road?

No, and not on any buggy or quad tour in the park. The operator answered a reviewer directly: the national park is UNESCO protected and off-road driving is not possible there. Everything happens on sealed mountain road.

Is the price per person?

No, per buggy. The two-seat option at €200 works out around €100 a head for a couple; there is a four-seat buggy too, and it is compulsory if you bring a child.

Morning or sunset?

Sunset is the one people write about, and it is also the one people underdress for. Departure times shift with the sunset and your exact pickup is confirmed a few days before, so keep the afternoon loose.

What do I need to bring?

Your physical driving licence — photographs and digital copies are refused — closed-toe shoes, and warm clothes. The jacket and goggles are provided and you will want them.

Can children come?

From four years old, in the four-seat buggy only, sitting in the back until they are fourteen. The two-seat option is adults driving.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

The listing marks it accessible and asks wheelchair users to contact the operator to arrange the pickup. Do that before booking rather than after.

How cold does it get?

Cold enough that the review most likely to be useful to you is the one saying they thought they would not need the jacket and were wrong. You are at 2 100 m in an open vehicle, with the sun going down.

Can I cancel?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, and the listing offers reserve-now-pay-later, per the page checked on 15 September 2026.
