The published timeline is unusually honest about where five hours go: an hour in the van to start, eighty minutes in Masca, half an hour across to Los Gigantes, eighty minutes under the cliffs and an hour of picnic below the wall that rises 600 m out of the water. What that timeline does not contain is a slot for the natural pools, even though they are in the title, the highlights and the description. That is not a trick — the operator says the swim is planned around the tides — but it does mean the swim is the flexible part of the day, and on the wrong tide it will be short.
Book expecting Masca and the cliffs, and treat the pools as the bonus they actually are.
